For many years, we have been encapsulating our NauticProfil® system with an extremely high-quality and resilient transparent polyurethane. This successfully protects our lights from moisture, dust, vibration, mechanical stress and other harmful environmental influences.
Until now, however, it was not possible to deliver the same colour coordinates for encapsulated LEDs as for an identical unencapsulated LED. Due to the physics, there was a shift in the colour temperature. The higher the colour temperature of the LED before encapsulation, the greater the colour drift.
The challenge: to create continuous lines of light going from outdoors to indoors in a consistent colour temperature.
Our solution: The FLASHAAR® PremiumCoating. We have optimised our PU encapsulation and developed a new, patent-pending encapsulation process that avoids a shift in colour coordinates.
What is known as an IP protection cover is applied over our high-quality LED aluminium core boards before encapsulation. Direct contact with the casting resin is thus avoided and the refractive index of the LED is not changed. The result is a stable seal of the best quality and long service life. An absolutely homogeneous appearance is guaranteed.
