CityCenter Bingen
The opening of CityCenter Bingen concludes the municipality’s conversion of the pedestrian zone around the former department store. The ageing building and the surrounding space have been transformed into a new centre of attraction after 22 months of construction work.
The project also included a lighting concept that was designed to create an atmospheric feel for this area of the city centre and guide visitors into the main pedestrian zone using the medium of light. LED spotlights have been installed in the ground around the CityCenter to bathe the trees in white and RGB colours on special occasions and depending on the season. The light planners used a total of 26 Solaris spotlights by FLASHAAR to realise this concept.
The stairs at the CityCenter’s transition from the pedestrian zone to the entrance area have also been illuminated with variously coloured LED lines. The changing colours may be programmed to run opposite or in parallel to the Solaris spotlights. Miniature LED points were also incorporated into the banisters to illuminate the steps and so make the stairs safe for users.
FLASHAAR LEDLight did not only supply the 26 Solaris spotlights but was also responsible for installing them and programming all the lighting controls.
