Esslingen District Office – modern administrative building in the spirit of sustainability
On the hill above Plochingen, the new branch office of the Esslingen District Office not only blends naturally into the landscape but also combines both functionality and a high ecological standard.
The new administration building was planned and built to the very high standard of a KfW 40 efficiency house. It offers space for over 220 employees.
In addition to the equipment with decentralised ventilation units and the use of water evaporation for cooling, a photovoltaic system was installed on the green roof. Air-to-water heat pumps and the application of efficient LED lighting round off the sustainability concept.
With their warm white light, IP Premium cast NP Sta.-Maria to provide harmonious and pathbreaking illumination in the covered walkway, which connects the old and new buildings in a curved shape.
The light-flooded foyer of the administration building houses the information point, the payment office, and a spacious waiting area. Visitors reach the Foreigners’ Registration Office counter areas via the central registration office. In these areas as well as in the stairwells, numerous NauticProfil® recessed and surface-mounted luminaires ensure functional and energy-saving lighting.
