Folding Bridge Mainz
In the summer the inauguration of the bridge, which connects the north and south quay of the Mainzer Zollhafen, was celebrated with a bridge festival. For a long time, pedestrians and cyclists that were on their way to the Kaiser Bridge, had been questioning what was going on. The bridge now opens up the way directly along the river promenade from the city centre to Kaiserbrücke, the railway bridge between Mainz and Wiesbaden.
The 60 metre long foot and cycle path bridge was rebuilt exactly in the location of the historic rotating bridge. Both historically protected bridge heads made of basalt lava were extensively renovated for the project. The bridge consists of two solid steel girders, each extending from the piers. In the middle are the two folding steel elements of the bridge that are remotely controlled.
Light lines from FLASHAAR extend over the bridge on both sides. They underline the dynamic lines of the modern building, set the bridge in scene and ensure safety at night. The NauticProfil system is used, which allows long light lines with uniform illumination and is easy to install thanks to the Plug and Play installation. For the folding bridge in the harbour, 68 luminaires with a length of 10 cm each were installed with the Nova-4 led line which offers durability, low energy consumption and an optimal price-performance ratio. Linear 60 ° lenses provide an optimal beam angle. The product is rounded off by the PU casting in the line lights, which protects the luminaires from dust and water jets.
