Maritime Safety and Security Centre
The Maritime Safety and Security Centre is a communications and cooperation network of the operational forces of the Federal Government and the German coastal states, which ensures maritime safety and security and is based in Cuxhaven. In the interest of national and international shipping as well as safety and security off the German coast, relevant information is exchanged and operations are coordinated on the basis of common situation assessments.
The new building that was built to house the Maritime Safety and Security Centre on the grounds of the Waterways and Shipping Administration was opened in February 2017.
Approximately 60 metres of FLASHAAR’s Victory-4 light line were used for the handrail along the stairs in the building. They are responsible for producing homogeneous light and increasing safety on the stairs; they underline the building’s architectural charm and enhance its appearance. The Victory-4 impresses with absolutely homogeneous light created by non-visible points of light at 120 points per metre.
