Friedrich Jacob Merck purchased the Engel-Apotheke (Engel Pharmacy) in 1668. It came to constitute the nucleus for the Merck company, the oldest pharmaceutical-chemicals group in the world. Today, after five years of planning and construction and, with for Darmstadt unprecedented effort costing around 10 million euros, the refurbishment of an architectural jewel from the post-war period, the Merck-Haus, has been completed.

The NauticProfil Victory-3 LED lamps by FLASHAAR were put to optimum use to represent the building’s blue light coves. A total of 110 light points for each metre guarantee a completely even line of light with non-visible light points.
