Impressive lighting production and symbol of modern mobility

In November 2023, a new pedestrian walkway was ceremoniously opened to the public on the city oval in Aalen. It is intended to connect the new urban area and the city center in an attractive, comfortable way and create short distances. The central location and easy accessibility offer great potential for a lively urban district.

The plans for the 141 meter long footbridge, which stretches elegantly over the tracks of Aalen Central Station at a height of 8.5 meters, were designed by architecture professor Werner Sobek, who comes from Aalen.

A spiral staircase covered with larch wood slats leads up on both sides to the footbridge. Alternatively, you can use one of the two elevators around which the stairs wind. Long LED light lines, which are integrated directly into the handrails, accompany visitors on their way up and across the entire bridge.
NauticProfil® luminaires of type NP Sta. Maria ensure optimal and glare-free illumination of the paths. In combination with other LED lines that are mounted on the outside of the bridge, behind the slats, they ensure an impressive lighting display on the bridge at night.

Thanks to the integrated through-wiring, based on our patented contacting technology, two feed points are sufficient for the over 140 meter long light line in the handrail - one on each side at the front of the bridge.
