Lahmeyerbrücke Frankfurt aM – continuous line of light in a curved handrail

The new Lahmeyer Bridge in Frankfurt swings elegantly in an arch over the tracks of the Deutsche Bahn and the port railway.
With a comfortable width of 4 meters and a length of approx. 160 meters, it ensures a quick connection between the Riederwald settlement and the Hanauer Landstraße — whether on foot or by bike. The barrier-free access on both sides of the bridge is new .
Modern and highly efficient lighting, which is integrated into the handrails on both sides, makes it a real eye-catcher, especially in the evening hours. The challenge here was to implement a continuous line of light in a curved handrail without interruptions. A perfect task for our NauticProfil® system. FLASHAAR® LED lights evenly illuminate the path across the Lahmeyer Bridge, thus ensuring optimal safety.
Embedded in the groove of the handrail and each provided with white covers, the lights create a homogeneous and continuous appearance. The lines of light accompany pedestrians and cyclists as they walk, without dazzling them. The warm white light corresponds wonderfully with the Corten steel of the bridge substructure. The installation of the lights is quick and easy thanks to the patented Plug & Play assembly principle. A flat cable runs in the NauticProfil® mounting profiles, into which the completely pre-assembled light inserts are "clicked" with their piercing contacts. Complex wiring is no longer necessary and light lines up to 100 meters long are possible with just one electrical feed.
