The refurbishment of an old administration building in 2012 was the result of a cooperation between the FLASHAAR® engineers and the architects Fay + Partner from Bingen, who produced numerous special constructions for the special lighting design.
The lighting concept in the three-story stairwell is characterized by two main elements. The basic lighting is provided by NauticProfil® system lights of the type Victory-3 from FLASHAAR®. Integrated into the handrail of the railing - manufactured as a special construction - these ensure homogeneous illumination of the steps thanks to 60° linear lenses. The MiniLine-2 profile lights of the type Enterprise-3 set light accents.
Embedded in the walls, the RGB lights create fascinating and varied lighting effects. Thanks to the continuous glazing of the stairwell, these draw a great deal of attention, especially at night. The housings intended for the lights were created as special constructions. They prevent a direct view of the LED and make the rather narrow and filigree MiniLine 2 lights appear larger and more conspicuous. The entrance area of ​​the old administration building was expanded with a special component during the renovation.
A cube-shaped wing is slanted into the entrance so that half of it faces outwards and serves as a porch. In order to emphasize this shape when looking inside, MiniLine 2 light lines of type Victory 3 were embedded in the floor on the left and right in the inner edges. In the corridor of the office wing, the very low overall height, caused by the installation of acoustic ceilings, poses a particular challenge for the lighting concept. This is where the MiniLine-2 profile lights are optimally used due to their narrow and flat lines.
The basic lighting is created by lights from the Victory-3 series.
Provided with a square, white cover, they enable a homogeneous illumination of the hallway, as well as an appropriate night lighting when dimmed. While the white lines arranged on a longitudinal axis serve as lighting, RGB luminaires of the Enterprise-3 type are used as separating and decorative elements. These change color in a sequence that follows the light pattern of the stairwell.
