Railroad station
Flexible adaptability for any environment
Our luminaires are highly configurable to meet the specific requirements of every train station. Thanks to accessories such as adapter frames and recessed and surface-mounted frames, our luminaires can also be easily used with other roof types. This flexibility makes them particularly attractive for architects and station operators seeking customized lighting concepts.
The lamp's individually customizable features include:
- Opening dimensions: variable for different ceiling cutouts
- Installation or surface mounting options: flexibly selectable, depending on structural requirements.
- Number of light heads (luminous flux): Adjustment of the luminous flux according to the desired brightness and environment.
- Light distribution curve: optimally coordinated light distribution for maximum efficiency and safety
What sets our DB platform light apart from other solutions?
Our DB platform lights set new standards by focusing on the specific requirements of a platform.
- Perfect light distribution curve (LDC): The light distribution curve of our luminaires is precisely tailored to the platform's specific characteristics. The light is directed precisely where it is needed most – onto the platform, for optimal visibility and safety.
- Excellent depth control: Our LEDs in the luminaires are specially recessed to ensure depth control. This reduces glare not only for passengers but also for train drivers, which is particularly crucial in complex environments.
- Adjustable for maximum efficiency: The lights can be tilted up to -15°, allowing them to be precisely aimed at the center of the platform. This ensures accurate illumination and prevents unnecessary lighting of the tracks. This guarantees optimal light distribution and maximum safety.
- Redundancy for maximum operational reliability: Our luminaires offer exceptional reliability. Each light head is equipped with four parallel circuits. Should one of the circuits fail, the luminous flux remains fully operational. Even if one of the two control gears fails, the luminaire continues to illuminate at half its rated power. This minimizes costly downtime and significantly increases safety on train platforms.
Durability and energy efficiency
The DB platform light is designed for maximum lifespan and energy savings. With a power consumption of only 19 watts per light, the total electrical load of, for example, 400 installed lights is just 7,600 watts – equivalent to the power consumption of 1.5 standard washing machines. This high energy efficiency ensures low operating costs and contributes to achieving sustainability goals.
Conclusion
The DB platform light offers clear advantages compared to other solutions: perfectly coordinated light distribution, excellent glare control, precise adjustability, and maximum reliability thanks to multiple redundancies. These features make our lights the ideal choice for anyone seeking a durable, low-maintenance, and cost-effective lighting solution that optimally and safely illuminates the platform. Best of all, our lights are repairable due to their modular design.
