With the opening of the CityCenter Bingen, the city has completed the redesign of the pedestrian zone around the former department store. After 22 months of construction, the aging building and its adjacent plaza have been transformed into a new attraction.
The lighting concept implemented as part of the renovation creates an inviting atmosphere in the city center and guides visitors into the main pedestrian zone using light. Recessed ground spotlights have been installed around the CityCenter, illuminating the trees in white and RGB colors depending on the season and for special occasions. The lighting designers used a total of 26 FLASHAARSolaris spotlights for this purpose.
The CityCenter's staircase is illuminated with various colored LED strips at the transition to the pedestrian zone and entrance area. The color changes can be programmed to synchronize with the Solaris spotlights or to contrast with them. Miniature LED dots have also been integrated into the handrails to illuminate the treads and other areas of the stairs, ensuring safe passage.
FLASHAAR LEDLight also handled their installation and the programming of the entire lighting control system.
