Functional new building and meeting place for children, pupils and senior citizens of the community

On the outskirts of Weiler near Bingen, the new St. Francis daycare center was officially opened in April 2024. The building was designed to zero-energy building standards. In addition to its energy efficiency and the sustainable materials used in its construction, the new building also boasts a pleasant indoor climate, natural light, and an attractive, inviting design. It offers space for up to 140 children, with plenty of room for age-appropriate learning, play, and fun.

The unique feature of this new building is the cafeteria, which serves not only the kindergarten children but also students from the neighboring elementary school and senior citizens from the entire region. The standard-compliant, functional lighting in the Weiler kindergarten meets the specific requirements of each room. Energy-efficient LEDs with a long lifespan support the sustainable design of the new building. Warm white and neutral white LED lights provide sufficient brightness while creating a welcoming atmosphere. High-intensity and economical NauticProfil® Nova luminaires are used both as surface-mounted lights in the foyer and cafeteria, and as pendant lights between acoustic panels, ensuring ideal lighting conditions with low energy consumption.
