Esslingen District Office – a modern administrative building in the spirit of sustainability

Perched on a hill above Plochingen, the new branch office of the Esslingen District Administration blends seamlessly into the landscape, combining functionality with high ecological standards. Designed and constructed to the stringent requirements of a KfW 40 energy-efficient building, the new administrative building offers space for over 220 employees. In addition to decentralized ventilation units and the use of evaporative cooling, a photovoltaic system has been installed on the green roof. Air-to-water heat pumps and the use of efficient LED lighting complete the sustainability concept.
IP Premium cast NP Sta. Maria luminaires, with their warm white light, provide harmonious and guiding illumination in the covered walkway, which connects the old and new buildings in a sweeping curve.
The light-filled foyer of the administration building houses the information point, the payment office, and a spacious waiting area. Visitors access the counters of the immigration office via the central registration desk. In these areas as well as in the stairwells, numerous NauticProfil® recessed and surface-mounted luminaires ensure functional and energy-saving lighting.
