A residential quarter with apartments for around 3,500 people has been built on a former military barracks site in the Gonsenheim district of Mainz. At its heart are Willy Brandt Square, which was created several years ago, and the two newly added neighborhood squares, East and West.
East Square offers a mix of open open spaces and sheltered seating areas, inviting residents to linger. The landscape architects from Bierbaum.Aichele chose FLASHAAR NauticProfil® luminaires for the lighting of the pergolas. These ensure even illumination of the pergolas, both inside and out. At the same time, they reinforce the open design, eliminating dark corners and creating a sense of security even after dark.
