The railway station in Ústí nad Orlicí is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic and, together with the clearly visible track, a paradise for any railway enthusiast. The station building, dating from 1874 and located in the middle of the tracks, was declared a cultural monument in 2010. Since the overall condition of the station, the underpass, and especially the lighting were unsatisfactory, the railway administration decided to undertake a comprehensive modernization.
In 2021, the underpass, which serves as the main connection between the platforms, was redesigned. The requirement was for high-quality, energy-efficient lighting that would blend seamlessly into the surrounding architecture with a simple and clear design and be vandal-resistant. The NauticProfil® I2 surface-mounted profile from FLASHAARwas selected for this purpose.
The profile is mounted on ceilings and walls using a suitable mounting bracket, into which it is inserted without tools. Equipped with the LED-Line Navigator, the indirect light of the NP I2 creates a soft and bright room, and together with wall paintings, a pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to its design and the "plug & play" system, maintenance is very simple and quick.
