ZDF Mainz

The Second German Television (ZDF) is one of Europe's largest public broadcasters, headquartered in Mainz, the capital of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Together with the regional public broadcasters united in the ARD network and Deutschlandradio, ZDF forms the public broadcasting system in Germany.
Since February 12, 2010, regular programming has been broadcast in HD quality (ZDF HD). In May 2013, the newly constructed ZDF Control Center 3, equipped with state-of-the-art picture, sound, and lighting technology, was put into operation. Popular programs such as the ZDF Television Garden and the ZDF Sports Studio are broadcast from there.
The entire lighting system is based on LED technology. Key decision criteria and advantages of LED lighting compared to conventional light sources are the lack of heat emission and its long lifespan.
Targeted illumination of dark areas is a crucial element of the lighting concept developed by the engineering firm Umstätter. The walls, bathed in light, make the otherwise rather dark space appear larger, creating a completely different and pleasant sense of depth.
FLASHAAR was used , combined with track spotlights and a lighting control system from ERCO. Various lighting scenes can be selected, allowing the user to flexibly adapt the lighting situation to the respective requirements.
