Central Bus Station Esslingen

The new central bus station (ZOB) in Esslingen impresses with its sophisticated architecture and size. It is equipped with a total of 18 bus stops and is part of a clearly structured ensemble of station and forecourt. After almost two years of construction, the missing link in a whole series of urban development innovations has been completed at this city entrance.
The ZOB's distinctive trademark is the gently curved glass roof, spanning almost 2,000 square meters. It blends gently and harmoniously into the cityscape while simultaneously accentuating the existing station building. A total of 1,300 glass elements protect visitors from wind and weather and allow light onto the bus stops during the day. At night, the highly efficient LED lighting creates a bright and friendly atmosphere. It is particularly low-maintenance and conserves resources.
The individual roof elements are illuminated with FLASHAAR ® MiniLine-2 luminaires of the Nova-2 type. With 2100 lm/m and 24 W/m, this LED luminaire provides bright and energy-efficient lighting. Transparent 60° linear lenses direct the neutral white light downwards onto the bus platform, ensuring uniform illumination of the glass triangles.
The LED luminaires are attached with angled ML Mounting Clips, which enable quick and precise installation. Each illuminated ceiling element has its own small distribution box. It is delivered ready for connection and includes a converter and a DALI dimmer. This allows for easy dimming of each light triangle.
