Lahmeyerbrücke Frankfurt aM – continuous line of light in a curved handrail

The new Lahmeyer Bridge in Frankfurt curves elegantly over the Deutsche Bahn and Hafenbahn railway tracks. With a comfortable width of 4 meters and a length of approximately 160 meters, it provides a fast connection between the Riederwald housing estate and Hanauer Landstraße—whether on foot or by bike.
A new feature is barrier-free access on both sides of the bridge. Modern, highly efficient lighting, integrated into the handrails on both sides, makes it a real eye-catcher, especially in the evenings. The challenge here was to create a continuous line of light in a curved handrail without interruptions. A perfect task for our NauticProfil® system.
LED lights from FLASHAAR ® evenly illuminate the path over the Lahmeyer Bridge, ensuring optimal safety. Recessed in the groove of the handrail and each fitted with white covers, the lights create a homogenous, continuous appearance. The lines of light accompany the path of pedestrians and cyclists without dazzling them. The warm white light complements the Corten steel of the bridge's substructure beautifully.
Installation of the lights is quick and easy thanks to the patented plug & play assembly principle. A flat cable runs through the NauticProfil® mounting profiles, into which the fully pre-assembled light inserts with their piercing contacts are "clicked." Complex cabling is eliminated, and light lines up to 100 meters long are possible with a single electrical supply.
