The renovation of an old administrative building in 2012 was the result of a collaboration between FLASHAAR ® engineers and the Bingen-based architectural firm Fay + Partner, who created numerous custom designs for the unique lighting plan. The lighting concept in the three-story stairwell features two main elements. NauticProfil® Victory-3 system luminaires from FLASHAAR FLASHAAR . Integrated into the handrail – custom-made – these ensure homogenous illumination of the steps thanks to 60° linear lenses.
MiniLine-2 Enterprise-3 profile luminaires add accent lighting. Embedded in the walls, the RGB luminaires create fascinating and varied lighting effects. Thanks to the continuous glazing of the stairwell, these effects are particularly eye-catching at night. The housings for the luminaires were custom-designed. They prevent direct view of the LEDs and make the rather slim and delicate MiniLine-2 luminaires appear larger and more striking.
The entrance area of ​​the old administration building was expanded with a special structural element during the renovation. A cube-shaped wing is set diagonally into the entrance, so that half of it protrudes outwards and serves as a vestibule. To emphasize this shape when viewed from the interior, MiniLine-2 light lines of the Victory-3 type were embedded in the floor on the left and right inside edges.
In the hallway of the office wing, the very low installation height, due to the installation of acoustic ceilings, presents a particular challenge for the lighting concept. The MiniLine-2 profile luminaires are optimally used here due to their narrow and flat lines.
Luminaires from the Victory-3 series provide ambient lighting. Equipped with a square, white cover, these provide homogeneous illumination of the hallway and, when dimmed, adequate nighttime lighting.
While the white lines arranged along a longitudinal axis serve as light guides, Enterprise-3 RGB luminaires are used as dividing and decorative elements. These change their color in a sequence that follows the light pattern of the stairwell.
